Shannon Ali was born and raised in Bossier City. She attended Parkway High School. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University. She received her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and briefly went on to work as a Speech Therapist at Melanie Massey Physical Therapy for two years before coming to Green Oaks in 2015. She has taught dance classes at Susan's Studio of Dance in the evenings for the past three years. Mrs. Ali is a former dancer for the Mudbugs Hockey Team "Ladybugs" and the AFL Shreveport-Bossier Battlewings.
For the school year 2019-2020, she will be teaching High School dance and Middle School English. If you are around me for any length of time, all the students will tell you that she will correct your grammar. She has a knack for that!
She and her husband have two sons, Isaiah and Ezekiel who keep them busy! They enjoy serving the youth during Fusion service at their church Word of Life Center and spending time with family.
The Green Oaks Dance Company was started in 2015 by Mrs. Shannon Ali. The company is made up high school males and females. They learn various styles of dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap. They have performed at several places such as a professional basketball game, the Red River Revel, local churches, and school events. The dancers have won numerous awards at the State Fair competition over the past three years, and they are preparing for more competitions this year. The Green Oaks Dance hosts mini camps for elementary and middle school students in the community to raise money. The company has its annual dance recital at Green Oaks in April. The mission for the company is to not only develop great dancers but to also develop great people! They achieve this by teaching life skills classes in addition to dance classes.
